MAPI_E_TOO_COMPLEX on SortTable
Category: MAPI
When I return MAPI_E_TOO_COMPLEX in IMAPITable::SortTable to Outlook
2003, Outlook tries again to do a SortTable, and after failing again, a
message box (with an Information icon) appears saying: "The sorting or
group by operation failed. Either these folders do not support sorting
or the conditions are too complex. Sorting and group by settings have
been reset". After that the view
is restored and everything keeps
working.
But, in Outlook 2007, after I return MAPI_E_TOO_COMPLEX in
IMAPITable::SortTable, Outlook calls IMAPITable::GetLastError. After
returning a MAPIERROR outlook displays a Message Box (with a Warning
Icon) and the view contents disappear.
Do you know why this is happening? Why Outlook 2003 doesn't call
GetLastError and Outlook 2003 does? Is it known that the two versions
behave differently when MAPI_E_TOO_COMPLEX is returned in
IMAPITable::SortTable?
Thanks...
